HiRez™ Real Estate Photography vs. Regular Real Estate Photography
Picture this: you’re a real estate agent. You have a beautiful home to sell for a killer price, in an amazing neighborhood, and with a pretty decent commission to boot. You’re pumped to post the listing and watch the inquiries pour in… until you look at the photos they sent you.

OK, not too bad, right? But then…
…Aaaand wait for it...
Just… what? Frankly, these photos are an insult to this home. The worst part: they have a mountain’s edge view that has been completely decimated by the second photo. Potential home buyers might notice the nice pool (and the shadow of a hose for some reason?) but they probably won’t see that beautiful bit of nature only steps away.
This home is listed in Las Vegas right now (as of January 2021) for $500,000 on Zillow.
The Proof Is in the Pictures.
A beautiful home needs top-notch photography to make it stand out and attract buyers. Though this home has some really attractive features, they are severely downplayed by amateur, low-resolution photography.
These photos are two decades behind the times. Kind of like this car (photo also courtesy of Zillow):
While it is unclear why they decided to include this photo, (another squandered mountain’s edge photo, by the way), it is crystal clear that photos of this caliber do not belong in a serious home listing.
Enter HiRez™ photography.
Giving buyers a good first-impression of your property with stellar photos is a great way to pique their interest, and often yields more inquiries than homes listed with low-resolution images. The NAR (National Association of REALTORS®) cites that 80% of home buyers’ decisions are influenced by property photos and virtual tours. Redfin also notes that listings with professional photos sell for $3,000-$11,000 more than similar listings with low-res photos.
This spells major ROI for agents who opt for professional photography. Investing in HiRez™ photography is a great way to sell homes quicker, and get a great price for them. Your clients will definitely thank you.
If you’re not convinced yet, just take a look at a regular photo next to a professionally shot and edited HiRez™ photo:
The difference is staggering. A growing number of agents and property managers add professional photos to their listings for this reason. When a buyer sees a home for the first time, they should see it in all of its glory. The little details that professional HiRez™ photos highlight can be the difference between an overlooked listing and a serious inquiry.
So if you’re an agent or an independent seller, do yourself a favor: hire a professional photographer. Professional photos save you time, and help you earn more money on the sale of your home — a worthwhile investment, if I do say so myself.
